About the Saudi Lacrosse Federation
Lacrosse has its origins in a game played by Native Americans. This makes it one of the oldest team sports in the world. It was played to resolve disputes between tribes as an alternative to war. Only after Western colonization were official rules codified and lacrosse started to resemble the game we know today.
The Saudi Lacrosse Federation was established and approved by the members of the Board of Directors in 2020, to serve the sport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Today, the Federation aims to promote lacrosse as a unifying sport, embracing both its historical roots and modern appeal. Through training programs and community events, lacrosse is gradually gaining recognition in Saudi Arabia.
